VMX 2.02 (Or higher) INSTALLATION:
Because of the major change we need you to remove ALL previous VMX folders from VoiceAttack/Sounds and VoiceAttack/Apps folders (i.e VMXPlugins folder from Apps and VMX_Player from /Sounds folder). This should rarely be necessary in future, except for major updates. Also head into your WIndows’ AppData/Local folder and remove the ‘audacious’ folder (only required to do this once).
To install (and update) VMX from now on, the following steps are required:
1. Load your voice control software in Administrator mode and turn VA Plugin support OFF
2. Import VMX Player2.02.vax file as you would a normal VA (.vap) profile. Wait a few seconds, when import is complete select the VMX Player 2.02 profile and turn VA Plugin support back ON.
3. Restart VA.
From now on you only need import the .vax file, updating will be taken care of for you. Also, note that G.L.I.D.E module will also be configured and updated for you automatically, so no need to touch your Windows AppData/Local folder.
Tip: If after an update you experience strange behaviour such as file not found or VMX refusal to behave normally, we recommend a quick trouble shooting procedure. Close VoiceAttack, remove the VMXPlugins folder from VoiceAttack/Apps and also remove VMX_Player folder from VoiceAttack/Sounds. It may be that the auto install/update has not updated all of the files correctly. Now repeat steps 1-3 as usual.
A reminder that EDDI is no longer required for running VMX, however as with pretty much any VoiceAttack profile, your EDDI profiles should run fine with VMX.
